Well, I've never drawn a picture of a real guy before, so I wanted to give it a shot, and why would I draw anyone other than the man himself John Wayne!
I figured it would be a good way to practice blending and all that stuff, but honestly, I thought it would look like crap, I didn't plan on uploading it, but it came out actually resembling him!!!! I am proud of myself  This took me about 30-40 minutes with a pencil computer paper and a tissue for blending lol Please leave critisizm!! I wanna be better BTW I wasn't sure if this was the right catagory or not... |

Anyways, the proportions are great!!
All I would do is make the shadows more definite so there is a greater contrast between light and dark.
Though, if you scanned it, scanners are known to eat details... stupid machines..

Yeah, I did it with a number 2 pencil on computer paper, then scaned it.
Just asking for a very plain picture lol
I thought about going over it with some of my B pencils and making it look nicer... but then I couldn't say I was lazy lol

Ok, cool. LOL oh don't worry. I love just looking at pictures and saying "I need to fix that." *ten years later* "Hhmm.. I need to fix that."
LOL. Once it's done, it's done, but you can always use what's learned for next time.
But yeah lol.. the pencil weights and such just make texture, you just layer for a darker tone. The 'H's are for 'hard leads' so you can use those for really fine textures like glass, table tops, certain cloths like silk, and that kind of thing. The 'b's are for 'bold' and those are for rougher textured like... cotton, trees, that old carboard thing that's been under your bed for months.. or maybe that's just me..
